Well I know I haven't blogged here in a long time but I have been busy playing with the 4 new games that I bought for myself which I must say is very addictive. To afford them I had finally sold all my Xbox 360 games and some psp games that I don't play with anymore. I bought:
- My Sims(Wii)
- FF: Crisis Core (PSP)
- Call of Duty 4 (again for the PS3)
- Patapon (PSP)
I know Crisis Core received bad rating but people who are truly Final Fantasy lovers and Fans will have to differ. Personally I don't see anything wrong with this game. I mean sure you can't skip cut scenes but with the graphics so beautiful why would you want to.
I know I said I was gonna buy only 2 things this month from my Wish list but Final Fantasy: Crisis Core has gotten a release date and it's supposed to be in this month we are in now! So I'm saving money and getting my old games I don't play anymore but not for only that. The game is only $40+tax. I'm also putting in my reserve the Wii game which you probably can guess. Uh-duh Mario Kart Wii! lol Hopefully my situation will be me paying out for my Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and using my used games to pay out Mario Kart. If anything I will pay for the reserve and pay a little bit of the Mario Kart and pay the rest of it later.
I have a total of 8-9 games I'm gonna trade in so this is gonna be fun to see the outcome or downright awful Gamestop experience. (I really don't need another one lol)
I'm totally hyped over the Squenix Party! I want to say so much but since I'm still computer-less and I can't really do any decent entries at work. I'll just share an AMV that I love. Squenix + UVERworld fangirling in one post <3!
The AMV is based on Last Order: Final Fantasy VII OVA and music is Nitro by UVERworld. I recommend the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children film by the way to those who hasn't seen it yet. It came out 2005 but the North America release was just last Month (February). The OVA actually has a bit of differences with the film but both are worth seeing [they are bundled together, anyway!] specially if you're a Final Fantasy Fan. More so if you're a Squeenix Fangirl like me and can't wait for Final Fantasy: Crisis Core to come out for the PSP since the game is based on this OVA. n_n
Note: HUGE spoilers so don't watch if you don't want to be spoiled. Although seeing this actually might want you to watch it but hey, don't say I didn't warn you though. :(
Squenix Party just finished 2 days ago which got me so hyped up. So much games <3! n_n. Although I was a bit disappointed given that they didn't have a giant Roxas this time! I was really expecting a giant Lightning or that guy from Versus but sadly there weren't any! :(
But yes, obviously the biggest rumor that came out (other than raging Parasite Eve and Star Ocean fans) is how most of the Squeenix fans are requesting for a FFVII remake for the PS3.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a PS3 remake of FFVII for the PS3 nor do I mind the remakes of the earlier titles. For most people, the FF Series didn't kick off until VI or VII. So I don't think there's anything wrong with making the earlier titles available in newer consoles. n_n;;
I think it's actually breaking the generation gap since not a lot of the new fans of the series would get an outdated console just to play an outdated game since some would think that an old game title on an earlier console is inferior.
I'm pretty sure that some of the fans doesn't like the fact that the games they love are getting remakes. I wouldn't blame them since I also have game titles that I loved which I want to stay the way they are. However, when I think about it. What other options do they [Squenix] have to keep the games alive?
Would I rather have them not remake anything at all and let the earlier half of the series die with the older consoles? Or have them port the EXACT same game into a different console which makes the replay value of it (to the people who played it before) really worthless?
I think handheld remakes are their best option to keep the whole series alive.
The originals need to stick with the original consoles for the sake of the earlier fans. The new remakes are for the new/younger fans who didn't get the chance to play the original ones, but it also gives the older fans the chance to replay a (slightly) different version of the game.
Obviously whatever Squenix will do will not make everyone happy though.
On another note, according to this guy
who works in Konami. A FFVII remake for PS3 was already decided during
a developers meeting. Not sure if it's 100% true though. On his blog he just showed his VIP pass to the said meeting as proof. Imo, this is
possible since well.. they did do a FFVII PS3 Tech Demo already so why
not, right?
